Lauren was highly recommended by a mutual friend, and before I started going to sessions with her I have to admit that I really didn't know much about craniosacral therapy. But as soon as I stepped into her beautiful, serene space, with its ingeniously curated collection of books, objects, and light, I immediately felt at ease. Every session began with a conversation, and Lauren's soothing demeanor and thoughtful analysis always elevated me to another plane where I felt ready to receive the treatment. (I filled many notebook pages with quotes of hers, each one a turn of phrase approaching a Zen koan.) The actual work is a bit indescribable - needless to say there were visions across time, journeys through liminal spaces, insights unlocked, and on a couple of occasions the most relaxing nap I'ver ever had outside of an opera house. Craniosacral work is different and complementary to other healing modalities I practice / have practiced (meditation, TM, church, plant medicine, CBT/DBT talk therapy), in effect tying everything together and helping me process all sorts of experiences and thoughts. When I met Lauren I did not know a lot about Reiki, so I had no idea what to expect in my first session. I was amazed at how great I felt afterwards. It is difficult to articulate the experience. You sense energy throughout your body, while at the same time you are completely relaxed. I slept better and deeper after my session than I have in years! Reiki was a totally new experience for me. Feeling present in my body since our session.
